I Heart Lifeby Brittney Warren

“If we look at the world with a love of life, the world will reveal its beauty to us.” ~Daisaku Ikeda

I’m sitting here in a quaint coffee shop trying to work, and I’m listening to some soulful music that moves me more than I can explain. Today I feel so thankful for my life and how beautiful it is. When I get in this place of peace, with my headphones on, blocking away all the other noises and sounds of my everyday tasks, I fall into a trance—a dreamlike state where I can’t help but feel inspired and full of love.

More and more every day I feel my purpose breaking through. I love working for a non-profit cancer foundation. I love that each day I wake up confident I’m doing something meaningful. I get to end everyday with a full heart knowing I work hard to educate and help people fighting this devastating disease.

Life hasn’t always been this way for me. I used to struggle because I felt like what I did wasn’t enough. I was stuck. The life inside of me was beginning to disappear. I was becoming that type of person who I once looked at thinking, “I hope that I never become that.”

Money, status, and my career were my priorities. That wasn’t who I wanted to be.

I did what most young adults typically do: graduate high school, go to a great college, graduate college, start a career working 10 hour days “putting in my time.” I just knew there had to be more to life than working in sales.

I decided to make a change and do what I really loved. I went from making way more than any young 20-something should make to earning just enough to get by. And it was the best decision that I’ve made yet.

I started by simply evaluating my life and focusing on the things that I loved and cherished most: relationships, love, people, laughter, working for the larger picture, my dog, and feeling like my life is more than a spec in this huge universe. Then I built my world around those things.

Now I want to run out every day and share with the world just how beautiful life can be. All of us are here on this earth for a reason. Why shouldn’t we love and embrace every second that we are alive? Why shouldn’t we do what we love?

There is no reason to not be happy.

The meaning of life is what you make of it—however you envision your life should be. No one’s written a book on how you should live and what should be important to you. It’s your job to create it. To live it. To love it. And to embrace everything and everyone who is along for the ride with you.

As you tune into what you love in life—what you want to do and who you want to be—you’ll get a sense of what you need to feel complete, happy, and so in love with life, you can weather even the most difficult circumstances.

Find your reason to love life and you’ll start seeing beauty where you never did before. Find that place of peace and harmony and let your light shine through.
