Love Bomb: Take Five Minutes to Share Some Love
by Lori Deschene
A while back, when a friend of mine lost her best friend in a car accident, I found a site called Love Bomb that inspired and moved me.
Every week, the Love Bomb community comes together to leave uplifting comments on a blog post written by someone who’s going through a hard time.
At the end of the day, that person has hundreds of supportive notes, which reminds them that they are loved and not alone.
It’s a simple way to reach out to someone in need and make a profound difference in only a few minutes.
Today’s Love Bomb goes out to a mother whose little girl is having open-heart surgery today. The mother’s friend Annie nominated her friend with this email:
“I suggest my friend Heidi–her 6 month old, Lydia, will be having open heart surgery this Thursday. My 5 month old had open heart surgery in June so I can relate to the anxiety and fear that she has going in. There is nothing scarier in life than handing your baby over to a team of doctors and praying to God that they can repair your child and return them to you. I know Thursday is a big day for Lydia, but it will also be a long day full of nervousness for Heidi and her husband.”
If you have five minutes, please join me in lending your love and support to Heidi (the mom) and Liddy (her baby girl) by leaving a comment here:

You don’t need to write anything profound, so don’t worry–there’s no pressure there! Your kind, compassionate intention will make a world of difference, even with just a few words. As Love Bomb founder Nate writes, let’s go drop a love bomb!

Though I run this site, it is not mine. It's ours. It's not about me. It's about us. Your stories and your wisdom are just as meaningful as mine.
