“In true dialogue, both sides are willing to change.” -Thich Nhat Hanh

If you’re listening to someone convinced they’re wrong, you’re closed off to the possibility they have something to teach you. Not because they’re right, but because you never know when you’ll get new information that changes your perception. That expands how you see and interpret the world.

Today if you get into a confrontation, ask yourself what your intention is: to change someone else, or change the fact that you’re not hearing each other. When you’re willing to meet in the middle, you just may find the other person more willing to make an effort.
