“Just as much as we see in others we have in ourselves.” -William Hazlitt
The Sanskrit word “namaste,” commonly used at the end of a yoga class, means roughly, “The light in me honors the light in you.” In Buddhism, this same concept can be defined as Buddha nature. The idea implies the greatness in you recognizes and appreciates the greatness in someone else.
And yet it’s always so much easier to see it in another than it is to see it in yourself. Someone else will always seem smarter, braver, kinder, more caring, or more successful.
You have a light; it’s what lets you recognize it in others. Others can only see it if you let it shine.
Let it shine today. Honor the greatness in you. You’re more beautiful and powerful than you realize.
