“Until you stop breathing, there’s more right with you than wrong with you.” -Jon Kabat-Zinn
For many of us, the natural instinct is to focus on what’s wrong–in all areas of our lives. How our work could be more rewarding. How our relationships could be stronger. How we could be better. Perhaps this explains the explosive growth of how-to related articles online (including the many we post here on our blog.)
We’re constantly looking for ways improve ourselves, which isn’t entirely bad. If you’re not learning and growing, you’re not living up to your full potential.
But if you don’t take time to acknowledge what’s right, you’re not appreciating and enjoying what is right now, in this moment.
As you go about your day, identifying things you’d like to change in your life and taking steps to get started, remember that you can grow and still acknowledge all that’s right. Your health, your mind, the love you share with people in your life. There’s a lot of beauty in both and you world. You just have to open your eyes and see it.
