“An ounce of practice is worth tons of preaching.” -Gandhi
Eating well, exercising regularly, thinking positively–all great habits that are more easily planned than followed. Sometimes it’s hard to practice what you preach.
You might not even realize you’re not doing what you talk about. Maybe you’re afraid acknowledging your struggles will undermine all the work you’ve done. Or perhaps you talk the talk so often you’ve convinced yourself you’re walking the walk–if not fully, then at least enough.
Enough is just a rationalization. An excuse to not do what you know you need to do.
Keep track of your rationalizations today. When you justify coffee after giving up caffeine because you’ve had a rough morning. Or you give up your commitment to positive thinking because your day was just that hard.
Those moments–when you feel least inclined to apply the knowledge you’ve learned–are when practice is most powerful.
