So I had OCD a few months ago and it was a nightmare. It seemed every moment I had an intrusive thought in my mind. These would be from sacrificing people to eating people and so forth. Before you start judging me remember that these are UNWANTED thoughts. I wanted them out of my mind so bad but the anxiety wouldn’t let me. These lasted for months and it seemed to never end. I would go on many websites such as Yahoo Answers, but they only seemed to judge. I would pray to God as often as ten times a day to get rid of them, but that didn’t seem to work as well.

I literally had to go to the hospital, and I started to question my Christianity when I saw other people suffering and their prayers were not answered. Unless you have been in an insane asylum before, you don’t know what real suffering is like. I told my parents that I didn’t want to be a Christian anymore and they understood. So they gave me a book about different religions to read during my free time.

Well I quickly realized that I didn’t believe in fake deities such as Hinduism or Zorowhateverit’snameism, and I most certainly didn’t want to be a Muslim or a Mormon. When I saw Buddhism I automatically thought of Buddha as a false God, but he wasn’t. He was a person just like you and me. He actually was the key out of my suffering. My problem is that I was trying to define myself by my OCD. However, I was still skeptical that God would punish me or something. So I tried it out for a few days and things didn’t get worse, they got better. Buddhism with a combination of medicine was the answer. I actually got out two weeks early and ever since then I have became a Buddhist. This is a completely true story.
