I’m SO happy to have found Tiny Buddha and am here for many reasons. One, my dream is to become a life coach and help others see life beautifully. Two, I’m a new stay-at-home-mom not working for the very first time in my LIFE and am starting to fall into a depression. Not mommy blues really, more of a “who am I without a job and income” sadness. I guess I have two questions then as well…I’ve found a few life coaching programs, one being Martha Beck’s but it costs $7,000 (!!!!) and am not sure what a normal cost is? Do you guys know of an incredible program? Two, how have mommies, or anyone else really, dealt with life without a job? I feel lost. Thanks xoJune 26, 2013 at 10:47 pm #37493

Hi Steph. First of all I want to say congratulations on the new baby. Secondly, I think it is a great idea for you wanting to be a life coach to help others. That is definitely a tremendous blessing. I can tell you that I do understand where you are coming from being a mommy and feeling like you are not contributing to the household financially and I went through that as well after I had my second son almost four years ago. I am currently apart of a coaching program now that is truly amazing. I just started in May and I love every minute of it. It’s called the Quantum Success Coaching Academy. The founder’s name is Christy Whitman and she is amazing. When I signed up in April it was $3,497. Right now though the Spring Classes are closed for registration but she will be opening registration for the fall session and I am unsure what month she will be doing that. Her program is accredited with the ICF. She’s the number one person to go to for the Law of Attraction Life Coach Certification. If you want I would be more than happy to speak with you one on one to get a better understanding of what you are going through and if you want to also receive free life coaching and I am open to that as well. Just let me know. You can contact me via my website at http://www.charquiseberry.com or if there is a way to pm me so I can give you my contact info I can do that as well. Hope and looking forward to speaking with you soon.June 28, 2013 at 12:53 am #37538

I got an email about it this morning so i’m not affiliated. This is what it says on the website:
‘Join over 25 amazing and successful mompreneurs who have taken the leap and created lives of freedom, balancing professional accomplishment and fulfillment with being an awesome mom, in this fun and motivational video virtual conference!’
Hope it helps!July 7, 2013 at 12:38 pm #38118
Congratulations on deciding to become a coach! It truly is valuable, honest and sacred work. I’ve been running my own private practice for almost 2 years now and it’s one of the the most rewarding things I have ever done!
From a personal point of view, I would wholeheartedly recommend The Coaches Training Institute (CTI). They are the largest coaching school in the world. They are also one of the oldest and most respected in the industry. Their approach is also very holistic and rigorous.
The full CTI program runs over a 5 month period, consisting of 5 x 3 day weekends (although you can spread it out over a year or longer if you like!). Its in person, one-on-one and full group work. As a qualified teacher, I can tell you that it’s a much richer experience than any online course. I shared an amazing class and wonderful experiences with 26 other people and its was truly incredible! It changed me HUGELY and informed my coaching to this day. They say you should walk the walk if you are going to talk to the talk, and CTI certainly subscribes to this mantra!
If you don’t want to invest all that time and money into the full program, you can take their initial weekend course called ‘Fundamentals’. It is very competitively priced (around $750) and there is sometimes discounts available on this course (I got it for $500). I can perhaps help you with this if you’d be interested.
CTI also offer a full certification program after the training which runs for a further six months. Its quite an intense and rigorous course, but you’ll be one of the best trained coaches out there! CTI run courses all over the world so I am confident there may be one near you. It’s very professional and well run. Take a look here: http://www.thecoaches.com/
As far as further help goes, I’d be happy to talk with you over the phone/Skype if you wish? I happily offer free consultations to anyone who wants to explore things like this and I have a lot of experience in mentoring. It would be a pleasure! Good luck! I hope this information helps you out.
