I forgot to add. I have a lot of free time now from school break. However, I just don’t know what to do. I literally just play games on the ipad or read life articles online, while wondering how my friends are spending time with their family.

    Dear Harry:

Well, it so happens, I am not celebrating Christmas. I don’t like large gatherings, parties and the like. Lots of people, lots of food, noise… all this doesn’t work for me, don’t like it. I was in a Christmas party a week ago or so, one was enough for me.

You only need one person, one person, in your life, to connect in a deep way, gradually. Just one. Remember.. that other person sitting alone, in the corner, away from the popular kids. There’s a whole lot of life and adventure ready to happen in that lonely heart, when it connects with yours!

    Merry Christmas.

Hi Anita. I see, you are introvert like me. Honestly, I feel like I am an Ambivert, but closer to introverted Ambivert, haha. True, Christmas is spent with people who make you feel like home. Well, that connection is still under search, haha. How did you first start connecting? I feel like in the modern world today, it’s hard to connect in the beginning. I need that help. I have another question, how do you manage your life, and reply to everyone here, in a thoughtful manner? I have a lot of philosophies and can talk about life for hours. However, I can only listen to problems to a certain degree. I feel like doing counseling for me would bring me to think about the clients during my free time too!
    Thank you

    Dear Harry:

“Christmas is spent with people who make you feel like home,” you wrote. This means that when you find that connection still under search, you can have Christmas every day!

How did I make connections? Same way I suggested you do: one-to-one psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, support groups- these were ways I attended in person. Later on, I went on internet dating.

To your next question: how do I manage my life and reply to people here- well, replying is not a part outside my life, it is part of my life. This website is my school, I learn here. Learning is the most important part of my life. Also, I am not employed or in any other (official) school- I am way older than you are, and so, I am not investing my time in achieving an official academic degree or planning for a lifetime of employment.

Hi. Anita. Honestly, you are a wonderful person. I am happy I came here. It’s great connecting with you here. Who knows, maybe I might have the honor of bumping into you one day haha. It would be awesome when I find that connection! I have one doubt. The thing is that I spend a lot of time alone. So, especially during my holidays, I wonder what to do. I mean, I don’t want to waste time, but I just wonder what should I be doing? I sometimes wonder whether I would have this question if I could spend time with my family. Honestly, I love to learn too, but I learned that its only good if you apply it. So, I get confused how should I be spending this time wisely, I don’t want to just watch TV, or do something unproductive.

    Thanks

    Dear Harry:

How to spend your time wisely? One or more of the following:

    1. Attend one-to-one competent psychotherapy.
    2. Attend competent group psychotherapy.
    3. Attend support groups where respectful rules to sharing are practiced.
    4. Attend an exercise/ yoga (or my favorite, for you)- tai chi class.
    5. Attend a sign language class for the hard of hearing.
    6. Involve yourself in a responsible online dating site.
    7. Attend a public speaking or acting class.

Thank you Anita. What type of group psychotherapy should I attend? Do you know of any responsible dating site?
    Thank you

    Dear Harry:

You are welcome. match . com or plenty of fish. com may be (as in maybe) a responsible dating site. Group therapy for people your age struggling with perhaps social anxiety could work for you.
