When other people treat you poorly, keep being you. Don’t ever let someone else’s bitterness change the person you are.

You either like me or you don’t. It took me twenty-something years to learn how to love myself. I don’t have that kinda time to convince somebody else.

People with weird personalities make the best friends. Being able to be openly weird actually relieves stress and anxiety.

We need more people who are willing to say, ‘I’ve been there, and I’m here. You can always talk to me without judgment.’

Being called weird is like being called Limited Edition. Meaning you’re something people don’t see that often. Remember that.

Relax wild one. It’s not your job to be everything everyone needs, and you don’t have to be impressive to be loved. Stop trying so hard. Just show up and be real with the world. That is enough.

When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we are not pretending, we are not hiding—we are simply present with whatever is going on inside us. Ironically, it is this very feeling of authenticity that draws people to us, not the brittle effort of perfectionism.

Keep hanging out with yourself until you are you again.

The introvert empath: Sometimes they want to be left alone. Sometimes they want to be included. But most of the time they want to be included with the option to be left alone.

I don’t want to fix you and I can’t heal you, but maybe I can help you see just how beautiful your broken is. Each cracked piece fits in to the masterpiece of who you are right now. And right now, I see a beautiful soul.

Never apologize for being too much. Too passionate. Too strange. Too curious. Because no, you’re not normal, and that’s a blessing.

You’ll never have to negotiate your way into a heart that wants you there.

No matter what you do, someone won’t be pleased. Someone will think your choices are wrong. And someone will tell you what you should do instead. No matter which path you take, someone will seem to be doing better. Someone will have more than you. And someone else’s life may look more impressive on paper. If you’re being true to yourself, none of that will matter because you’ll have something more satisfying than approval and the illusion of “success”: a life that feels right for you, based on your own wants, needs, values, and priorities.

Let your weird light shine bright so the other weirdos know where to find you.⠀

Just because you’re not doing what other people are doing, that doesn’t mean you’re failing or falling behind. You’re charting your own course and staying true to yourself, even though it would be easier to join the crowd. You’re creating a life you can fall in love with instead of falling in line. You’re finding the courage to do what’s right for you, even though it’s uncertain and scary and hard. Give yourself some credit, because these are all reasons to be proud.

Don’t trade your authenticity for approval.

If you’re not really happy, don’t fake a smile on my behalf. I’d rather you spill your guts with tears every day until your smile is real. Because I don’t care about the show, the disguise, the politically correctness. If you’re in my life, I want you to be in your own skin.

I have decided to stop saying yes to people and situations that don’t support my well-being. Instead, I will say yes to my happiness, and yes to my growth, and yes to all the people and things that inspire me to be authentic and whole, while at the same time accepting me just as I am. My yes, from here on out, is my pledge to live honestly, my commitment to love myself fiercely, and my cry to create my best life possible. Yes.

Don’t change to win someone’s heart. Stay true and you’ll find someone who likes you for being you.

Find the courage to be authentic. Not everyone will like you, but no one can if they don’t get a chance to know you.
