You don’t have a right to the cards you believe you should have been dealt. You have an obligation to play the hell out of the ones you’re holding.

When people are rude, harsh, critical, or argumentative, recognize it’s not really about you and resist the urge to react emotionally. Don’t allow their behavior to dictate your mood or steal your peace.

Sometimes you just have to let yourself off the hook. Forget everything you didn’t check off your to-do list, forgive yourself for any mistakes, and stop dwelling on everything you think you could have done better. The past is behind you, and it can only control you if you let it. So let go of what you should have done and focus on the best you can going forward.

When a child can’t calm down they need connection and comfort, not criticism and control.

Agreeing to things just to keep the peace is actually a trauma response. When you do this you’re disrespecting your boundaries. No more making yourself uncomfortable for others to feel comfortable. You have control now. You run your life. Take up space and use your voice.

You can’t change the people around you, but you can change the people you choose to be around.

Dear self: Don’t get so worked up over things you can’t change or people you can’t change. It’s not worth the anger buildup or the heartache. Control only what you can. Let go. ~Love me

Sometimes all you can do is accept there’s not much you can do. And sometimes all you can control is how well you let go of control.

You may not be able to control every situation and its outcome, but you can control how you deal with it.

When you can’t control what’s happening, challenge yourself to control how you respond to what’s happening. That’s where your power is.

You can’t stop negative thoughts from popping into your head, but you can choose to stop letting them control you and your life.

Life is a balance between what we can control and what we cannot. I am learning to live between effort and surrender.

Never apologize for how you feel. No one can control how they feel. The sun doesn’t apologize for being the sun. The rain doesn’t say sorry for falling. Feelings just are.

Don’t let yourself be controlled by three things: people, money, or past experiences.

Today I will not stress over things I can’t control.

Anything you can’t control in life is teaching you how to let go.

Peace is accepting today, releasing yesterday, and giving up the need to control tomorrow.

Five things you can’t control: What other people think of you. What other people do. What happens around you. The outcome of your efforts. The passage of time. So let go and focus on what you can control—what you do today.

Letting go doesn’t mean that you don’t care about someone anymore. It’s just realizing that the only person you really have control over is yourself.

Life should be touched, not strangled. You’ve got to relax, let it happen at times, and at others move forward with it.
