Good question to be asking at this stage! I would start with answering the question: “What are my values?”

For example, if you do not value your health and you get sick, what can you do? Not much. So one value that just about everyone should have is “I value being healthy”. Then this value can help you setup long term and short term goals. For example if one of your ‘health’ goals is to run a marathon in a year, this should set in motion a training plan on how to complete a marathon. ie. week 1: walk 1 mile/day, week 2: walk 2 miles/day, week 3: jog 1 mile/day, etc.

For your profession, the same principal applies (with added complexity). What do you value? I like this post: http://sourcesofinsight.com/finding-your-values/ .

I agree with Moongal about getting some work experience. Working helps build perspective and can assist in giving you some insight into what makes you tick.

By the way, there will always be parts of a job that you will not like. But if you ‘Value’ the work that you do because it speaks to you, the annoyances of a job are just that, annoyances. And there are ways to control them 🙂

Good luck!
