In my one and only successful psychotherapy experience, finding healthy distractions was a skill my therapist taught me. Having a list of healthy distractions (he called it having a toolbox) and choosing one at any time, according to the circumstances is part the process of healing and transforming one’s mind and life; part of healthy and functional living.
