I agree with you that it is not only the mother who has power over her daughters and sons, it is also peer pressure (once the children are older, about teen age). Of course, there is also the father, when he is involved with the children.

I do appreciate Christopher Agoth- I feel affection for him. It is kind of you to appreciate his mother for giving birth to him, almost at the cost of her life. I wish she cared as much to take care of him after he was born, and to be a good wife to you.
