Dear Dina:

You shared that you are confused about the meaning of the fact that every time you saw your childhood crush, your heart pounded. You saw him eight years ago while you were “already in a relationship”, so you were not available for a possible relationship with him. Otherwise, you “never ever made the step to go and talk to him”. Now you work abroad, dream about him, feeling “some connection” with him.

My understanding: you had a crush on this boy, and that crush has been revived recently because you are not in a relationship, you work abroad and possibly- you are lonely and longing for love.

Regarding the crush itself, I think that it is not much different from a child getting very excited about.. let’s say a particular chocolate candy. Later on in life, the adult is still excited about the same particular candy.

What do you think?
