Thanks James. Thanks for sharing your insight and turning your life around.
Hey Amy,
There were so many contradictions in your post. You sound like a very young soul 🙂
Hey, without hard work, you cant really achieve worldly success. There are a few people who are smart enough to not work hard and get away with loads of success but it is rare. There is no guarantee that smartness goes hand in hand with success.
When I feel like procrastinating nowadays, I usually ask myself as to what do I want in the end? Stress few days down the road, self loathing and self pitying that I didnt put in the effort OR at least I tried and gave it my best shot without any major expectation for a failure or success. The answer is often the latter. The trick, which has worked for me to is to set time aside for ME time and then study or work time. This way my both needs are fulfilled. I dont keep telling myself that I have to study for 3-4 days in a row to only start it at the last minute. As by doing this, I am neither living in the present moment or doing studies. By putting time aside for everything that we need and sticking to it in small chunks helps.
Concentration suffers when the mind computer is filled with unnecessary junk (most often due to procrastinating thoughts). Consider doing 10 minute meditation everyday to help with this.
So in simple terms, think of where you want to be and trace back your steps back to today with a belief that hard work put in today will yield rewards eventually. Study without expectation for a fail or success. When we are able to do this, we study better, we think better and we perform better 🙂 this is what my experience has taught me over the last few decades.
Good luck and fly high.
Jasmine
