I have suffered with panic attacks in the past. I know how horrendous they can be, and how much they can really ruin your life.
A few things:
– You will get through this. Many people suffer panic attacks at some point (1 in 10), and anyone can get help so that they become a thing of the past.
– CBT is the best treatment, and has a long track record in treating panic attacks and panic disorder.
– Get familiar with the symptoms: http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/articles/symptoms/ Bookmark this page! Understand that the terror and panic you feel is normal, as are many other alarming symptoms. Re-read that page when you feel panicky, and you will begin to notice the symptoms and not fall into the spiral of panic. This takes time, but you will get through it.
