Metta Meditation is new to me . But I practice Meditation and would like to share my thoughts on it.
Meditation is of two types. One is when you focus your mind on an object, on a thought or a problem. The other type is to make your mind blank and just relax without any thoughts or worries and try to connect to a higher level of consciousness. The first type draws out the potential from your deepest mind and brings it forth to your conscious mind.This kind of meditation can be directive and creative.But this cannot calm down the mind as the mind is very deeply active, in conscious and in subconscious state. This however,can make the mind very powerful.
The second type of meditation is the practice of withdrawing the mind and senses from the world, and trying to merge into the cosmic consciousness,or God.”— Dr. Rakesh Kumar / ishwarcenter
