Worldometer, Nov 26 (US Thanksgiving Day): Yesterday, there were over 181 thousand new cases and 2,304 new deaths in the U.S.- a record high of new deaths per day during this current U.S. winter (third) wave of the pandemic and the previous U.S. summer (second) wave of the pandemic. Only in the U.S spring (first) wave of the pandemic- there were higher numbers of new deaths: the highest was 2,744 new deaths in April 21. There were nine days during the Spring wave with a higher number of yesterday’s new deaths.

Yesterday– Italy had 722 new deaths (853 new deaths the day before yesterday was the Italy’s record high of  new deaths during this winter/ second wave, not much lower than its all-time pandemic record high of new deaths of 921 new deaths on March 27). The UK had 696 new deaths- a record high in the country’s winter/ second wave (new infections have been lessening in the last two weeks). Poland had 674 new deaths- the country’s all-time pandemic record high. Russia had its record high of new deaths during the whole pandemic: 507 new deaths. Spain had 389 new deaths (new infections have been lessening in in the last month). Germany had 416 new deaths- an all-time record high, higher than on any day in the winter/ first wave. France had 381 new deaths (new infections have been lessening in the last 19 days).

Health: Dr. Fauci just said ten words every American should hear, Nov 25 (Thanksgiving Eve): “Dr. Anthony Fauci went on Good Morning America with one ‘final plea’ for all Americans before Thanksgiving. ‘Well, the final message is to do what really we’ve been saying now for some time is to the extent possible: Keep the indoor gatherings as small as you possibly can,’ he said. ‘We all know how difficult that is because this is such a beautiful traditional holiday. But by making that sacrifice, you’re going to be preventing people from getting infected.’..

“Why the warning about getting together with your extended family or group of friends? Fauci said ‘we know for sure that people who are without symptoms innocently, with no malintention at all, goes to a party or goes to a gathering, gets together, indoor, you let your guard down. You obviously have to take a mask off if you’re eating or drinking, try to avoid that as much as possible. A sacrifice now could save lives and illness and make the future much brighter as we get through this.’..

“Dr. Fauci said the light was at the end of the tunnel—the vaccines are coming, for high-risk patients as soon as next month—so hang tight. ‘We’re going to get through this. Vaccines are right on the horizon. If we can just hang in there a bit longer and continue to do the simple mitigation things that we’re talking about all the time—the masks, the distancing, the avoiding crowds, particularly indoor. If we do those things, we’re going to get through it. So that’s my final plea before the holiday.”
