Hello Peter,
thank you for sharing these quotes. I’ll think about them more.
I personally do believe that suffering is necessary. There is no left hand without the right hand. One does not exist without the other. The word “left” loses its meaning without the word “right”. If there is no suffering, there is no happiness… or love, if you prefer this word.
However, I am absolutely convinced that Senaca is right. “We suffer more in imagination than in reality.” Because we are trapped in a world of words, concepts, perceptions…
I personally feel that way. I suffered more from my own imagination about people than from reality. I have also recently suffered more from what I thought I should think than from reality… because I let myself be too bound by the world of words, concepts and labels…
I need to experience first and only then can I understand.
Maybe it is the universal suffering that we are trapped in this world of words, concepts, labels, perceptions (?) … because without understanding this suffering, we can spend our whole lives only in suffering…
Hello Alessa,
thank you for your vulnerability and openness. I believe thanks to you I now understand better people who can’t get out of their vicious circle of wordly suffering. I’ll get to you later! ☀️
