Working so hard all week, exhausted and so tired. It was quite scary earlier this evening, as we just had a massive monsoon this evening. Huge trees toppled on busy streets, nonetheless somewhat manageable. Got a lot accomplished today, by calling the corporate office of the apt community I just moved back to recently, to give them the option that I could hire someone to come immediately to my unit to fix a few things. Told them I understood that there are only 2 maintenance ppl that work this entire complex, so I understand there are work orders that were in before mine. The conversation went well and ended well, so I think we are getting somewhere about resolving these minor issues. Well, I’m off to sleep and need all the rest I can get.
Thank you to anyone who reads this.

It is fine to start threads and posts so to share, vent, process feelings, etc., not wanting replies. If you want replies from members, please state so, and perhaps ask what kinds of replies you want. Again, it is perfectly fine with me that you post not wanting replies, and I will reply to you in the future only if you request replies.

August 21, 2020 at 11:22 am #365274AnonymousInactiveThank you so much Anita, you’re sweet kind and understanding, I really appreciate that.🙏
I’d really like some advice or suggestions on something. I work really long hours with my job and my back has been hurting me so bad, my lower back especially. I usually go and get a 90 minute body massage, which helps but I feel it’s only going to help me short term. I was doing Bikram yoga 5 times a week and then everything closed again in July. I have to leave for work soon and getting out of bed this morning has been a struggle with my lower back.
Suggestions welcomed and appreciated.
Thank you so much.

I had serious lower back pain and the following worked:
– The yoga child pose, keep the pose for a few minutes.
– Lying on my back on a hard surface, the floor with my legs against the wall about 45 degrees, for about 10 minutes, or longer.
– Core strengthening exercises, strengthening the muscles of the belly, the back, the sides.
I hope you look up the above on line and let me know how it works for you.

August 21, 2020 at 12:57 pm #365288AnonymousInactiveThank you so much for the tips.🙏 I’ve heard about the 45 degree angle one. So, I’ll try that too. My core and abs are pretty flat but I’m currently dealing with food sensitivities. I was suppose to get a nutrition test last month but I had contracted Covid-19 and was bed ridden with it for about 4 weeks, so I have to wait to go get re-tested soon, in order to get the ok for a nutrition and food sensitivity test.
August 21, 2020 at 1:01 pm #365290AnonymousInactiveI contracted COVID at the end of June right after my birthday. Do you think my lower back-pain contributed to that?
August 21, 2020 at 1:04 pm #365291AnonymousInactiveStrange thing was, I had gotten tested prior to getting sick and during and was negative but after being sick and carrying the antibodies for almost 3 weeks, I got tested again and was positive. Anyway, I’m off to work and thank you so much again.

You are welcome. I am sorry you were sick and glad that you recovered. Regarding your question whether your lower pain contributed to you getting sick with Covid-19: depending what caused your lower back pain, if the pain was caused by sore muscles alone, I don’t think it had anything to do with you getting sick with the coronavirus. I am not a doctor of course.
You can get on the CDC website: www. cdc. gov/ coronavirus for updated information on the topic. I hope the rest of your day at work goes well.

August 23, 2020 at 10:40 pm #365390AnonymousInactiveThank you for that, I appreciate it. When I was able to practice hot yoga 5 days week, the pain went away. I’m starting to think it’s from too much stress on my lower discs/lower back from sitting too long. I need to take more days off and not work so much and not work too many hours, It’s difficult to do that right now. I will say, I have a 90 minute massage on Tuesday morning, so I’m really hoping for at least some relief for awhile.
Now, as far as the issues in the unit goes… A lot happened when I woke up Friday morning, after calling their corporate office Thursday afternoon. The maintenance worker looked at the washer and said he reset it and then looked at my master shower lever and said it was most likely the stint and he tried to replace it. That didn’t work, so they had to call a professional to come to my unit Friday afternoon and the professional said, that my temperature lever isn’t working right, from all the years of calcium/hard water build up. I had also received a long and detailed email from one of the managers here at the community on Friday morning, apologizing and explaining. I really appreciated it, that she reached out and wanted to help and explained some positive changes they will be making in the community in the very near future, as far as proper upkeep. The exterior of the community needs some upkeep and care, which I’m hoping to turn around for the community while I reside here for now.

You are welcome. Sitting for too long does hurt our lower back, so it is recommended to get up every so often, walk around, stretch, before we sit again, and see to it that your chair is comfortable. My additional recommendation, from personal experience (if you are not doing it already), is that as you sit- shift once in a while right and left, so that the weight of your upper body is on the right side of your bottom for some time, then on the left.
Reads like you’ve been doing all you can regarding the maintenance of your apartment. I think it will be the responsible thing on the part of the owner/ management, to give you a rent discount for all the trouble you are going through.

August 24, 2020 at 9:33 am #365425AnonymousInactiveHi Anita, yes, so true.🙏 It’s a little concerning becuz I’m currently doing courier work and so it consists of me driving a lot all over town. It’s a decent income but I need to change that obviously, since it’s affecting me physically.
Now, as far as the issues in my unit, I guess the lever hasn’t been replaced yet because the water and plumbing company needed the approval to go ahead and do that, from the management here that is to do the replacement. So, I’m gonna have to call them here soon and see what they are gonna do, cuz we are going on 2 weeks now since move in. I’m remember this community being higher quality than it is now but then again, it’s been a decade since I’ve lived here.
Im not sure if they will discount my rent even more in September, since I’m already getting 700.00 off from the move-in special. Guess it’s worth a try and asking, to see…
August 24, 2020 at 9:59 am #365428AnonymousGuestDear Marie:
Yes, it’s worth looking into a rent discount. If the move-in special offer did not mention the disrepair, then that discount is not a compensation for the disrepair.
Regarding sitting while driving, here are a few recommendations I found online: sit with your body all the way back in your seat, hold the steering wheel at a “9 and 3” position, keep your left foot on the footrest when you’re not using it, and wear your seat belt so the strap goes across your pelvis.

August 24, 2020 at 8:24 pm #365497AnonymousInactiveThank you And yes you are right, I should be compensated but not expecting it. I asked this morning while speaking with corporate and spoke with one of the managers, I will ask for a compensation on Friday. Next, is getting rid of the sewer like smell, coming out of the bathroom. I’m thinking of pouring bleach down the drains, what do you think? Guess I should do some research on ridding of the smell. The rest of my place smells amazing because I have glade plug-ins in each room.
Thanks for the seat suggestion earlier, it helped. I appreciate it and didn’t have to work too hard ortoo much today, it was a nice day of not working too many hours.
Hope you are well.🙏

You are welcome. I am well, and I hope you are too.
“I’m thinking of pouring bleach down the drains, what do you think?” – it will not clean the drain and it is dangerous, according to the good human. com/ is it safe to pour bleach down the drain: “pouring it down the drain will not do anything to help keep the drains clear. In addition, you could cause a dangerous chemical reaction if it comes into contact with other household projects you might be using”.

August 25, 2020 at 12:55 pm #365548AnonymousInactiveI am happy to know, you are well.
Oh my! Well, guess I won’t be doing that then, although, I’d like to clean and disinfect the bathtubs and shower/walls with it. Guess I need to hurry and look into something for the drain to rid of that fowl smell. I have such a sensitive smell, so to me it’s rather potent and sewage like smell. Yuck.
