Book Giveaway: Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal and The Self-Love Experiment

UPDATE: The winners for this giveaway are Alexandra Martinez and Kathy Kortegaard.

Happy October, friends! Over the past several months since I launched Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal, I’ve been excited to receive some wonderful feedback on the thought-provoking prompts and questions, and the coloring pages.

I decided to create this journal because adopting a gratitude practice has been life changing for me; it’s shifted my perspective, boosted my mood, and enabled me to hold on to optimism during some of the darkest times of my life.

And I chose to include coloring pages because I’ve been obsessed with adult coloring since it became a thing. Sitting with my markers and a book with intricate pictures or mandalas, I feel relaxed, completely focused on the present, and joyfully connected to the creative part of my brain.

If you haven’t yet picked up a copy—or if you’d like an extra for a friend—now’s your chance to win one.

And because the best gratitude practice is rooted in appreciation for yourself, I’m also giving away a copy of my good friend Shannon Kaiser’s new book The Self-Love Experiment.

About Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal

This flexibound interactive journal includes questions and prompts to help you reflect on everything that’s worth appreciating in your life.

Sprinkled throughout the journal are fifteen coloring pages depicting ordinary, often overlooked objects that enhance our lives, with space for written reflection on the page.

Tiny Buddha’s Gratitude Journal will help you recognize your blessings, focus on the positive, and foster optimism so you can be your best, happiest self every day.

About The Self-Love Experiment

Whether you want to lose weight, land your dream job, find your soul mate, or get out of debt, it all starts with self-love.

Shannon Kaiser learned the secrets to loving herself, finding purpose, and living a passion-filled life after recovering from an eating disorder, drug addiction, corporate burnout, and depression. She walks you through her own personal experiment, a simple plan that compassionately guides you through the process of removing fear-based thoughts, so you can fall in love with life.

If you want to change your outcome in life, you have to change your daily habits and perspective. The Self-Love Experiment will help you do just that.

It’s been a long process with ups and downs but soooo worth it!

It was raining for over a week here in Texas. My 16 year old daughter and I would watch people walking in the rain as we drove by. She said, “that must be horrible to have to walk in the rain” It was nice of her to notice that she could always have it worse. However, for 2 or 3 days I saw a woman purposefully walking her dog in the rain, as she seemed to enjoy it. So, I have 2 thoughts. One, I am grateful that I have a car, an umbrella and a jacket, but my eyes have also been opened to those who actually love to dance in the rain. With the temperatures having been in the 100s, we are all just grateful for the rain!

  • Robin Walston

Once I was released I was put in an extensive therapy program. Making myself discover self care and when I need to practice that has been eye opening. I have and still do suffer from major depression at the age of 47 years old. While continuing my therapy, I have realized that I need make sure I have self care and know when to recognize when I need it.

A friend’s daughter was killed in a car accident yesterday. The deputy was chasing a stolen car that ran a red light and crashed into her car. She and her friend were killed instantly. Her dog lived. I am so grateful today for my own life and my sons and their families. I am also grateful for living each moment the best I can.

  • Anya

It may seem cliche but I despite what is happening in my own small world and the big scary world that we live in right now, I am truly grateful for: my health, all my limbs, the roof over my head, my fridge full of food and my friends.

  • Michelle Boss

I’m taking a class about global inequalities and we’ve been discussing poverty and what that implies. Something I had never considered before was that it isn’t just a lack of income to meet basic needs, but also a “capability deprivation”, or lack of ability to express yourself and live a life in adherence to your values and passions. For example, if someone believes in eating plant-based and organic but can’t afford to buy those foods, or if they have a passion for dance but can’t afford lessons, they are deprived of the freedom to live a life that they enjoy.
That being said, something I’ve been especially grateful for lately is my financial security to the extent that I can pursue the passions and hobbies that give me joy and help fulfill my spiritual needs. Specifically, I recently went vegan! I am so grateful to have the money to be in good health and adhere with a diet I strongly believe in. 🙂

I am grateful to be alive and for the reminder I received from a friend this morning to “live every moment”. A reminder that was brought sharply home with the loss of a family member and with horrific loss of life and injuries in the Las Vegas shooting. Every moment is precious and none of us knows how long we have.

  • Pam Flores

I am grateful that I made the decision to cut off a part of my life that was not helping me become a mentally, physically, and spiritually happier and healthier person. I left a successful position where I was for 9 years to pursue my masters in counseling full-time. Sure, I am worried about money, but I have never felt so weightless and airy in my life. That is worth more than whatever salary I was making and will ever make. I am extra grateful for learning what being content really feels like, and the importance of having that feeling in everything and anything that I choose for myself (because it really is a choice).

  • Navin Sharma

I am also so grateful I had the opportunity to observe the type of relationship he and my mother shared over the 67 years they were married and especially during the last two years of his life. My mother was my father’s primary caregiver and she took extraordinary care of him, and when it was time, she was the one who told him it was okay for him to leave us when he was ready. He listened to her because he trusted her and he went peacefully with no regrets.

I am grateful for my ten month old Granddaughter. To see through her experiences are so refreshing and I am reminded of the raw, beautiful simplicity all around me.Through her curious eyes I am once more in awe of this earth.I thought I was in tune before she was born but I was actually rusty. Now I can feel right along with her, her amazement when she pinches a single blade of grass between her fingers and looks at it like it is the greatest gift ever! I relive the fleeting sensations she must have trying to grasp a handful of sand in her chubby little grip. Her pure unbridled smile with eight new teeth, the bubbly giggles and incredible bursts of laughter and regular random outbursts of hilarious sounds.I am so grateful because she is here now and I do feel the world is a much more promising and hopeful place.

I’m grateful for the opportunity given to me by my 92-year-old father by his slowness, determination to remain independent, stubbornness and vulnerabilty in old age, to develop my patience and compassion – for him and for myself.

I am grateful for my life. To be able to dream and to love those around me. I am grateful for my courage, for being able to make my own decisions and stand by them. Yesterday I provided my resignation notice for my current job in Iraq, which I used to love, but the work environment has just turned toxic. It was a very painful decision as Iraq has been my home for a year but I decided to put myself first, love myself enough to leave and go out and get better.

  • Aubrey

I’m grateful for a relationship that has seemed painful but has taught me an important lesson and turned my focus inward, where I need to find love FIRST. It took me a long time to view it this way- I was stuck in blaming, projecting, and fear. I never thought that the shift would happen. I have read Shannon’s book and HIGHLY recommend it! If I won I would give it as a gift as I already have a copy. I’m also a huge fan of Lori’s work <3

  • Dee Maruk Dancey

Today I am grateful for many things. That my treacherous drive to and from Calgary is over and we are all safe and sound. I have heat and power in my home… My folks was finally restored this afternoon. That those who I knew in Vegas left half an hour before the shooting. That I don’t know anyone injured/ affected in the edmonton terrorist attacks.
I send love and light to the universe

  • I am grateful that despite all my fears and insecurities I continue to find the courage to live boldly and daringly. I have experienced so much at such a young age — living in Thailand, traveling solo as a female, returning to school to get my masters, all because I had the courage to say yes, in spite of my fear of failure. This is also what I appreciate and admire about myself the most.

  • CHRISTINE MARTIN

Lately I’ve been hearing so many stories of heroes who put their lives on the line to save others in Las Vegas. I read about a man named Sonny who died because he used his body as a human shield so that his wife wouldn’t be harmed. I’m grateful to know that I have a selfless man in my life who I know would do the same. And I’m grateful that there is so much love in the world. I hope everyone has a wonderful, grateful day.

This may seem trivial, first world problem to say the least. I just had to get progressive eyeglasses and am not adjusting well to them at all. I remembered a story of a little boy in Africa who needed glasses and had no means or access to any kind if glasses. Through a donating effort he put on glasses and for the first time saw his mother’s face and cried. I remembered this story tonight when I was complaining endlessly about my new glasses. I’m grateful I have access to glasses or my life would be much different. I would not be able to drive and then would not have my job. I have difficulty with gratitude so for my realization if this tonight and happening upon your giveway, I had to share.

  • amy

Im grateful for life. A few weekends ago, I felt suicidal thoughts over a relationship that was so bad for me. I was so scared. It seemed like that was the only way out at the time. I honestly don’t think I ever wanted to harm myself or end my life. I just wanted to end the pain and the overwhelming misery that my boyfriend at the time had been putting me through. I turned to the internet and found an article in a google search from the Tiny Buddha blog, from there I read another article, and another, which led me to the strength to finally end my relationship and start loving myself again. This is already a long post, but today I’m simply grateful for your blog. It has changed my life. I just want to say thank you much for sharing it with us. ❤️
