This is so true and something I have only recently realised after a succession of failed relationships. I heard a great quote recently: ‘For us to be a we I have to be a me’. I’m now demonstrating love for myself by looking after my physical and mental health, saying ‘no’ when I need to, letting go of toxic friendships, pursuing my neglected creative passions like music and art. At the same time I am holding a place in my heart for my future beloved. Thanks for posting this!
