Dear Shirley:
More from my husband when I read to him the parts in your post about survival in wilderness: he said there is another must read book he hopes you can get in the library. It is called: Country Wisdom and Know How.
He also said rubber as a fire starter is a bad idea because it stinks and magnesium: shave into particles so to get it lit. A better way to start a fire is get saw dust, put in egg cartons, fill with hot wax…
I was very pleased to read the following in your latest post:
” i don’t think this is the life my parents want for me to be out in nature and to follow being buddhist, but i think it’s what makes me truly me.”
““sometimes you have to take your own path in life and sometimes you have to walk alone.”
“there will always be obstacles and people who are criticizing, but i know my place now is to be in nature, to learn how to be positive spiritually and help others.”
Very much pleased to read these things as well as you considering that your special friend may be your soul mate but you are prepared either way.
Good job, Shirley! You are uniquely amazing!
