“I was just mainly shouted at.. if I did anything bad.. I was just told that things like swearing, causing trouble  in school, bullying were bad“-

– do you know that shouting at a child or at anyone (unless in emergency situations like a house burning) was a bad thing that your shouting parent/ parents did?

“I didn’t like it when my parents were disappointed or angry that I did something wrong, so I tried to avoid it”-

– you tried to avoid their shouting, I imagine, because it  is a scary experience, to be shouted at, and it’s most painful to be shouted at  by the parents you try so hard to please, isn’t it?
