* Dear Seaisland:

Talking about inaccurate projections, this is what I was worried about this very morning, before turning on the computer- it may amaze you, maybe: yesterday, on this thread, I wrote to you that when I fell off the deck I screamed like a slaughtered pig. This is what I said to myself this morning: Maybe Seaisland is a vegetarian and felt badly when I wrote “slaughtered” pig. Then I proceeded to think how terrible for pigs to be slaughtered in such a way that they scream like that… and then I doubted my right to eat meat and proceeded to think about the way cows (around where I live) are humanely raised and killed and that it is okay to eat the… And I was afraid that you, Seaisland are now angry at me, or turned off to communicating with me.

And then I get your post above about kinship and was relieved… so I inaccurately projected that you were angry with me for the comment above… and yet I don’t know for sure if the comment did cause you discomfort or disgust… so to CHECK projections for accuracy, I can ASK: did you, Seaisland, feel discomfort about my comment? Are you a vegetarian (if you are okay for sharing that…)?

So, I need to “catch” myself when I “jump to conclusions” and check, ask for clarification.

And this does tie to jock’s post about humility and being humble, and it ties to Inky’s comment about who is RIGHT: checking, asking for clarification before we are sure about our interpretation.

And I appreciate your humility, Seaisland! I like you!
