Dear Wisdom:
I like your art comparisons. It makes me develop my thinking further on our discussion today: you, Wisdom, are definitely unique: there is only one of you. No one can express himself or herself exactly like you. No one has exactly your experience and your brain. So no one can steal your uniqueness, it is just impossible.
An invention of a machine can be stolen, a recipe for a special dish can be stolen though… lots can be stolen, material things you own. And maybe it seems that even love can be stolen, in a family when one sibling gets the attention and the other does not. Theft and inequality are definitely a reality.
So all these things are true: things are stolen, in real life; love and positive attention are most often not distributed equally.. and nobody can steal your unique experience of life, your expressions of thought and emotion.
Regarding dreams, you wrote that it would be nice if god and angels would be guiding you through dreams. I agree, it would be nice if a positive, loving and wise entity or entities would be guiding me! Of course, would-be-nice doesn’t necessarily make it be so. There is a difference between wishful thinking, a preference and reality.
Regarding good things happening to bad people and bad things happening to good people: I think these happen randomly, I mean natural disasters, crimes, wars.. these are not personal to a particular individual. People get caught up in such happenings, having done nothing to cause those things. I don’t think bad things happen to good people to teach them something. People can learn from situations but the situations don’t happen for the purpose of teaching the person something.
Often, because people who believe in god and the bible believe god is just, and knowing there is not much justice in the world, they figure there must be justice after death. This, in my opinion, is convenient thinking. I don’t believe in heaven and hell. I don’t believe we exist as the unique individual we are after we die. We may exist as a form of energy though.
As to people being inherently good: I think people are born good but many don’t stay that way.
Till next post!
