what are the signs that someone is a “clown” and potentially be a toxic person to date? I met this person who used to work as a clown and her personality somewhat resembles a clown. I’m scared to start a relationship with her because I just hate fake, two face people. But I also read an article about “trauma clowns” that they are like many comedians who hide their sensitive self because of past trauma and crave to be liked by others so they do whatever pleases the audience, such as something funny, smiling and entertainment…

Anyone have experience with dating a “clown”? How do you spot one?

    Dear aidan:

I don’t have experience dating a clown. Regarding you hating “fake, two faced people”, and suspecting this woman is that, why not ask her questions, straight forward, clear and direct questions so to get to know her, what motivates her, what does she value as important in her life and so forth?

That way you will find out if she is honest, one-faced with you, so to speak, as you are with her.
