I’m going crazy with anxiety, I feel like its ruining me. I’m so anxious all the time, I’m anxious about what I’m going to cook for dinner, how I’m going to have enough time for everything, how am I going to distract myself tonight so I don’t end up crying again.. I need help. I need peace. I’m going crazy

I think the best thing to do in this situation is sit and breathe- meditating helps immensely.
Take a deep breath and focus on one task at a time. Be present in the moment and realize that sure, you’ve got a lot to do, but it’ll get done and it’ll be okay. By having circling thoughts you’re furthering the anxiety so just relax and DONT WORRY about it!Breathe, sista!

One thing that’s really helped me with my severe anxiety is just taking everything one step at a time. What can you do IN THIS MOMENT? Worrying about dinner, and tonight…save that for when you’re actually faced with it. Try being completely present here in the moment, right now. Soothing mantras may help as well…I personally like to repeat “All is well, right here, right now.” I’m breathing in the current moment, I’m alive, I’m okay.
Like Catherine said, meditation is also helpful. Anything to just calm your mind and to pull you away from the constant rampage of thoughts in your head will help 🙂 There are lots of guided meditations on YouTube and I also just like to listen to music to keep my brain from obsessing.

I’m sorry for your spinning thoughts, and know how disorienting it can be. Don’t despair, dear sister, there is always a path to peace. Consider that there are perhaps two components to the difficulty facing you. The first is the fear, the second is the mental racing that the fear inspires. These can be approached, you can find peace… but first you have to be patient. Much like a spinning top takes time to settle, so does the mind. So be tender, gentle with yourself as you try to settle. A few things came to heart as I read your words.
Meditation can help a lot to relax our mind, especially metta meditation. Consider “Sharon Salzburg guided metta meditation” on YouTube. If you find you’re unable to follow along, such as your mind blossoms with tons of racing thoughts instead of the images Sharon describes, consider a counting breath meditation. YouTube “Ajahn Jayasaro counting breaths”. Over time, the space around the anxiety opens, expands, and settling the fear becomes simple, direct.
Again, it takes time, and I know it can be tough to be patient when we’re in pain. Much like its difficult waiting for a fruit to ripen when we’re hungry, but its worth it. Even a week of metta practice one or two times a day could really help.

When you start having these anxiety attacks, first realize you are not alone, a lot of us have these attacks and they are difficult. I start seeing black spots and get very dizzy, and when that happens I stop close my eyes and begin to pray for as long as I need to until the anxiety passes. You may need to try to stop doing so much at once, or cut down on the amount of tasks you try conquer in a day. I find a list helps me, and I don’t get overwhelmed. One thing at the time and take time for yourself!
