Im stressed
Recently i had to block my younger sister from my cellphone . Our mother passed away in 2015 and i was the only caregiver available she was 15 when our mother passed away in her sleep , she also found the body in the bed and called me . I took custody of her along with my two brothers ages 4&8 .Long story short we didnt get along and she didnt understand that our mothers sudden death in her sleep was hurtful to me as well i was not prepared , we didnt even have life insurance to bury my mother so people donated . So at the age of 25 i had a total of 5 kids in my two bedroom apartment 2 kids belonged to me . She moved out in the 11th grade and we didnt talk for about 1 year . So moving forward i have a job and im working on bettering myself and whenever i communicate with she hurts my feelings she feels like i ruined her life , i did my best . So recently i blocked her from my cellphone , I have alot of responsibility i work a full-time job and i have a kid . Im currently in the process of graduating high school at the age of 31 i dropped out in the 10th grade . I feel bad for blocking her because we experienced alot of pain growing up our father did drugs beat our mother and we watched but i cant accept how she treats me and i dont have a solution to fix the things we argue about .

Welcome back, good to read from you again! In my very last reply to you in your previous thread, on August 9, 2021, I wrote to you: “it is natural and understandable to shut out people who hurt you. We all need people to help us to go through difficult situations. Things is, we need the right kind of people: those who have empathy and patience for us”, and in the last sentence in that reply, I wrote: “we need people who are empathetic in our lives“.
Fast forward more than 10 months, and you shared about your sister: “whenever I communicate with she hurts my feelings… So recently I blocked her from my cellphone” – you shut your sister out of your life because she hurt your feelings and so to prevent her from hurting your feelings again: you did the right thing, congratulations!
It is not okay to say rude things to another person and therefore hurt their feelings, no matter if it’s a stranger who is rude or a sister.
“I have a job and I’m working on bettering myself …I have a lot of responsibility, I work a full-time job and I have a kid. I’m currently in the process of graduating high school at the age of 31” – to carry on your many responsibilities and to continue to better yourself, you need (like I wrote to you 10 months ago) people who are empathetic in your life, people to help you to go through difficult situations, not people who hurt your feelings and make life for you more difficult than it already is.
“I feel bad for blocking her because we experienced a lot of pain growing up our father did drugs beat our mother and we watched but I cant accept how she treats me and I don’t have a solution to fix the things we argue about” –
– The two of you experienced a lot of pain growing up, so it means that she should not cause you more pain! Like you expressed, you can’t fix the things she complained and argued about .. so all the arguing and the pain are useless.
You did the right thing blocking her even though you feel bad about it. Whenever you feel bad about it again, remind yourself that you did the right thing and that I think highly of you for doing the right thing no matter how it feels.
I admire you for making good choices, for carrying on your responsibilities and for continuing to better yourself! Congrats for passing one of the GED sections. You have what it takes to pass the remaining three sections!
