    I play baseball even though I’m a girl. I really want to become the first professional female baseball player. The problem is I’m not exactly the most talented player. I’m not necessarily sure that I’ll accomplish my dream.

    I’m a strong believer in mind over matter. If you really WANT this, you can do it. You might have to work VERY hard, and that is something you would have to be willing to do. Figure out what your weaknesses are, and figure out how to strengthen those areas.

    Dear Petal:

    Indeed, often it is not talent that brings success but persistence, not giving up, being dedicated to getting better and better. On rare occasions talent is enough. Most of the time, it is way less powerful that endurance, persistence, and the passion you feel for (baseball).
