    Not just memorable quotes but when reading, do you circle, highlight or copy down stuff you want to use again? I think it is a good habit to get into. Not just to have resources ready to make a more impactful speech, but just when talking to friends or even here on Tiny Buddha.
    It’s a habit I’ve only just started recently. Also useful to put your own slant on the quote. What do you think of the quote? How does it apply to your life now? language can get tired and full of clichés. Fresh language, fresh insights are very important. interestingly though, some old quotes haven’t been used for a while so they seem fresh. There is so much in just Shakespeare’s work for instance.
    Here’s some from Izzeldin Abuelaish:

    Dear Llama Jack:

    Like your quotes. I thought recently on “The unexamined life is not worth living” true only to those who examined. Or who like to examine. I noticed how lots of quotes are true sometimes to some people only, like “if you don’t live on the edge, you are just taking space”- what? Really? Who says…. I do tend to agree with “All you need is love” – is it originally the Beatles? I don’t bother with quotes anymore and hardly do any reading anymore. Too much work selecting what is true and what is not and in what context something is true and so forth.

    Now I will submit this, and another “anita’ on the right side of list of threads… it looks like I own tiny buddha by the so may times my name shows up… it irks me.

    Here is the name again….

    Dear Jack:

    I just read your comment on the other thread but responding here so to leave “jack” on at least one thread on the list. Credit by the owner you say? Well, if I get credit then I will have to give some of it to you for all your encouragement you gave me, for standing up for me. A good part of my credit will be going to you! And then I will have to give some of my credit to all the others who respond and post. Guess whose name is coming next….

    Let’s see, let me consider, changing my name … no, not Barbara or Veronica, I like Sigmundina. Maybe Sigmundina. Not Brangelina no.. not Hillary. Not Trump. SIgmundina- that is the winner then. Hmmm… I like it. But I have to keep my name for… authenticity reasons. But darn, I like Signmundina… it has the right sound!!!

    Wait, if you change your name, don’t tell me, see how quickly I will recongnize you! that will be hilariously interesting. Will you have to change the names of all your inner selves? What about Llama Jack? Too complicated, I think, a whole lot of upheaval for all the inner selves. It will be like the tower of Babel maybe.

    Ha ha… ha, Juanita is no good. It will be funny though to see the anita anita anita juanita anita anita juanita list. No, no good. I will have no problem recognizing you, it will not be a challenge because it is only you and I here. Who else is here tonight? Of all the millions of tiny buddha members, it ends up being just you and I.

    If there is anyone else here tonight (WA, USA) or mid day in Australia, make yourself known. Please. And you will get credit (credit I will share with you once I get it myself, as suggested to me tonight by Juanita.
