I’m unsure if my family and I would benefit from structural family therapy. Although there are occasionally many communication gaps, our family is doing fantastically.
Based on the little that you shared, my opinion is that if your family is doing fantastically, there is no need for family therapy. If, on the other hand, the “many communication gaps” that you mentioned poke holes in that “doing fantastically”, then quality psychotherapy can help a lot.
What areas of family life do you wish to see improvement in. Thich Nat Han has written about communication and relationships, that may be a good start. Do you think the rest of your family would be open to family therapy?
