    Dear Maria:

    “You are my little punching bag”, “I am sorry”. “I love you”- I remember you shared that your mother told you that you are her world.

    But then she yelled at you following the slightest inconvenience to her.

    Is that what you meant by punching bag, I wonder. The angry cat, it was your mother?

    I think what I get from this, outside the art part that I enjoyed, the drawings, the changes of images with the music, is that love your mother had for you, how good it felt, and how that love made it feel so very bad when she turned on you. In that love of a mother there is a great promise for the child.

    The breaking of that promise is devastating.
