For 22 years I have carved myself a career with great success but 2 months ago I resigned feeling I could no longer work for my employer. I felt unwanted in the face of changes which were business rather than service driven. I wanted to change this and uphold the values I had worked to promote. I am now left thinking I made the wrong decisions and am fearful of the unknown. I realise now how I have used work to define myself and without it what or who will I actually be? My mind is in turmoil as I face a future separated from my line of work by opposing ideals

I dont think there are any wrong decisions. You have just listened to your inner being and done an action that was right for your overall well-being. When we dont take actions in life that sustain us, some higher authority steps in to save us and we often make radical decisions such as this then. But it is always for our highest good !!!
When did work become your identity or start to define MaryZ ? Did you come out from your mother’s womb with your work qualifications or experience ? No, right…which means we can learn new things and travel on new paths. Nothing is finite in this world. Things can change in a second. People can disappear from our lives suddenly and life can take a 180 degree turn at a blink of an eye.
Hey, dear MaryZ, wake up and listen to what your inner being is telling you. If you feel lost or uncertain, consider helping needy people around the place. When we help people, it generates a lot of positivity in our lives and all the help from this Universe comes to guide us on our right path. You can also trial meditation as it will help to calm your racing thoughts and lastly, be gentle with yourself. Life is giving you an another golden chance to make new beginnings and create happy memories. Dont give up now.
Blessings and loads of positive energy,
J

Thanks for your well considered thoughts….you have made me feel a lot better. You also made me laugh…much needed at the moment…. about being born with a clutch of qualifications.
That’s the thing …. My life’s work has been helping the vulnerable and I feel I am turning my back on them for my principles.
I hope things find their own direction and I can give more others.

I am glad you are feeling a lot better 🙂
Your life’s work has been helping the vulnerable at the expense of —— ? The first and foremost person who needs our help is US and US alone (Not United States, yeah lol). When we forget to recharge our “batteries”, we stop being effective and giving out to the world becomes a chore rather than a selfless service. Perhaps, time has come to give in to your needs first, which includes accepting your principles. Once you accept yourself for who MaryZ is, you can find a new path, which is a nice balance of being YOU and also helping those who need it.
We CANNOT save someone from drowning in the sea or ocean when we ourselves do not know how to swim or are lacking confidence / good fitness to jump into the water for whatever reasons.
Be kind to yourself lady and let the higher self of MaryZ guide you. You can still help others with small gestures such as those of smiling more (I cant tell you how rapidly it increases your positivity index and it is highly contagious), cooking up a meal for a homeless human, giving way to someone on the road, buying a cuppa for an elderly couple in the mall, saying random thanks, reaching out to the top shelf for groceries for someone who isn’t that tall…..hey help doesn’t have to be big or only for those who are vulnerable. All of us can do with some help as well as long as it is done with the purest intention and LOVEEEEEE
Unconditional Love is in the air…..
Blessings,
J
