Sounds like you’re looking beyond earthly matters. Have you read “Conversations With God” by Neale Donald Walsh? I recommend it to you. Its tough to look beyond societal norms for what we must do with our lives, especially when we feel we are being called to a higher spiritual level than the mass (not that we are any better, but just on a different spiritual journey). We have to constantly think, what will my parents think? Don’t I need to be worrying about retirement? When all we really want is freedom to feel we could just live in Africa helping the poor and not have everyone think we are crazY (FOR EXAMPLE). And why ARE we consumed with what these people will think of us? If we are called to advance our souls in a way most don’t understand, why can’t we muster the courage and strength to lay aside “cultural myths” and be gung-ho for the reality at hand?? This reality being that we will live eternally forever and our souls will never die and this earthly preoccupation with things that don’t matter is sickening!

So, I guess what I water to tell you is not to ignore these feelings you are having because you are truly being Called to do something great. Study on it. Find yourself. Expand yourself. Don’t give in to our culture of “SHOULDS” AND “SHOULD NOTS.”
