Jess – maybe you’re thinking about too many things at once?
I would say first of all start by accepting that it’s ok not to know what you want to do. Close your eyes and breathe. Direct healing + compassionate energy towards yourself. Treat yourself as if you would treat a friend. Scolding yourself + not providing self-care won’t get you where you want to get to, + you wouldn’t do that to a friend.
You’ve obviously been through a tough time, so allow yourself to send love to yourself. It’s ok that you’re struggling. It’s completely normal in the situation.
After you’ve done that (don’t skip over it!), share with us what the ‘few’ goals you said you have, are. Also really like Big blue’s exercise.

Have you thought about volunteering in a counselling/mentoring format to see if it’s for you? There are plenty of organisations you could contact to do this with…

July 29, 2014 at 10:33 pm #62187RaeekaParticipantCan you just try to build up a relationship with him outside of work so you can keep getting to know him, without it necessarily being a date? e.g. it’s fun talking to you and I know you’re moving to another schedule soon – shall we exchange numbers to stay in touch?
July 29, 2014 at 9:56 pm #62180RaeekaParticipantThanks Jasmine! 🙂
July 28, 2014 at 10:41 pm #62025RaeekaParticipantAs I’m talking to them I try to exhale whatever negativity I am feeling towards them and inhale a blessing towards them. That helps me to be authentic without getting riled up. I let go of the negativity + I put myself in the mind frame of compassion + love towards them.

It’s amazing what the mind can do. You’ve wanted so much to be where you are + now you’re there your mind is playing tricks on you.
Try to remember that you are not your mind. The part of you that is drawn to your career path sounds like it is coming from your soul. The mind is a tool, but it can be a monster if we don’t learn how to use it.
Every time you have a negative thought about yourself in this context, gently say to yourself – I am not my mind. I am not my mind. + commit to continuing to improve in your role. Just take it day by day, knowing you are not you mind.
Your negative mind is being overactive right now, and you need to get into your neutral mind. The mind that knows as Cody said “it’ll be alright.”
So remember, you are not your mind. When you go into this negative mindset take a step back + breathe. Just 3 long deep breaths. Say I am not my mind. + keep up!
