The task of coming to terms with your experiences and memories while having to deal with a constant reminder could make any new mindfulness practice difficult…. and I’m guessing setting healthy boundaries with your Mother hasn’t gone to well….
Are you able to create safe space – physically and mentally – for a few hours every day. A Place where you can pause and direct your attention elsewhere?
