Dear meliss: I received this morning, in my junk mail, what seems like an email from you. I transferred it to the inbox mail, but it… disappeared. I don’t know what happened, I am not even sure that you sent me an email?

i’ve been trying to reach you all week(i sent 2 emails, one this morning and one on Wednesday, I believe). i posted a message to you here a couple of days ago but it was awaiting moderation and never posted(i was trying to apologize for what i thought i might have done). I thought you blocked me here…

I really thought you were ignoring me and didn’t want to talk to me anymore and i couldn’t figure out what i did.

But yes, I did send you an email this morning.

Dear meliss:

I am so sorry! I was disappointed about not having received an email from you all week and figured that maybe you changed your mind or that you were waiting (you mentioned sending me an email once a week or so). I wouldn’t have ignored you like you suspected, that would have been cruel! I need to be away from the computer for a few hours. When I return, I will figure out what to do next.

Dear meliss:

When I got what looked like an email from you in my junk mail this Saturday morning (the first email I received since Monday), I wasn’t able to read before it disappeared. I thought that maybe it was a computer glitch. But just in case it wasn’t a glitch (and you really sent me an email), I started this thread so to let you know that I am unable to reply. Fast forward to this afternoon, I just tried again to restore the email that we successfully exchanged Monday afternoon, but it did not get transferred. I can’t read it and I don’t have your email address. My computer skills are very poor, so there is nothing I can do now to fix this.

Hi anita,

I am not sure what happened.

I can try to resend one of the earlier emails to you…to see if you get it. If you get it, write me an email, not as a “reply” but start an email to me, that might get me out of your junk folder.

If you don’t get it _ I can send you my email address here-but all my posts seems to fall into the “awaiting moderation” so that might not work…cause i won’t be able to delete it.

Well, let’s try the first…I’ll resend the email. If you don’t get it, I do have an alternative email address that I can try to send it from.

Please let me know.

I did receive your email in my junk, was able to open it and I now have your email address. I replied to the one you sent and sent a second email using your email address. I will soon be away and back in a few hours.

I’m sorry for putting you through this… i don’t know what’s wrong. maybe it’s slow. I did try to send it again.

I’ll think about it. Maybe I’ll have a solution tomorrow. Might be due to your hotmail settings. I don’t know…

Hi Anita,

Here are a couple of possible solutions.

You can maybe try checking the other tab(if you have it) or adding me to safe senders list…

1. Check The Other Tab

Hotmail allows you to set up a Focused Inbox, with which your inbox will be separated into two tabs. You can set up a Focused and Other tab using which you will only be able to focus on emails important to you.

If you have set up another tab, then probably your email can be in that other tab. Check the other tab, and if you find the email there, then right-click on the email andclick on move to Focused inbox. Your email will be moved from another tab to the focused inbox

2. Checked Blocked and Safe Senders
Click on “Options” in the upper right corner of your Hotmail screen.

Then click the link for “Safe and Blocked Senders” in the body of the page under Junk e-mail.

Click the “Safe Senders” link and enter the email address you want to whitelist.

Click “Add” to put it on your list.

If I’m on “blocked senders” remove me from there first(below) and then add my email to the safe senders list(instructions above). People on your safe senders list never go to junk mail.
3.Unblocking-

If, for whatever reason, you decide that you want to begin receiving emails from the blocked person, you can navigate to the “Blocked Senders” option outlined in Step 3. Find the sender’s email address in the “Blocked Senders” list, then click “Remove from list” to unblock him. The next time he emails you, you’ll receive it in your inbox.

maybe this will help…I think checking your block list again to make sure I’m not there(it reads like I’m still blocked) and adding me to your safe senders list might help—at least I hope it does.

Dear meliss:

I just noticed that in your very first email to me, before any of the technical problems that followed that first email, you wrote that you were nervous about communicating with me via email even though you bugged me to exchange emails (your words). You were nervous about communicating with me on your own thread, that’s why you pressured me to exchange emails. So… you were nervous and uncomfortable either way: on a public forum and on email.

This very experience of (1) Being pressured to exchange emails with you, (2) Giving in to your pressure, (3) followed by 6 days of technical (and whatever other) problems with the email exchange, (4) The Lose-Lose aspect of this: you felt nervous and uncomfortable after you got what you wanted — has resulted in me feeling stupid and quite angry for having given in to your pressure.

Here is my edited position today: I will never again exchange email addresses on the forums, and I will never again give in to pressure to do so!

If it happens that I receive a future email or emails from you, I will not answer any of them. But it does not mean that I am ending our communication: you are welcome to start a new thread, and if you do, I will communicate with you there, on your own thread, for as long as you do not ask or pressure me again to do what I already communicated to you that I don’t want to do.

I don’t want to post again on this thread, so this is my last post here. Again: you are welcome to start your own thread. If you choose to not start your own thread, then I say: goodbye meliss, and I wish you well.

Hi Anita,

What I copy pasted last night looks sloppy (especially if you are not that familiar with technologh-so I’ll type out some of it for clarity.

There are 4 options as I see it.
1. If you have primary and other folders activated(you might not), new emails may go to the other folder(see instructions above). My gmail email to you may have went there.
2. If I went to your junk senders email, restoring the email will not send future emails to your inbox. You will have to add me to safe sender’s list…see above.
3. It reads to me like my email is still blocked. You will have to go to your block senders list(instructions above) and check my email and click on remove from that list.
4. Once I am removed from block list, you have to go to safe senders link, click on it, click add, manually type my email address and click save.
5. It should be fine.
I just saw your post as I was posting this….I know this frustrating but I promise I want to email you.
