Hi ! I don’t know if you are into dreams, but this dream was so strange I just have to share it with you, and I want to know what you think about it. So last night I had that strange feeling that while I was sleeping someone or something was holding me tight and while that feeling lasted I had the worst nightmare.I dreamed that I was dreaming the ceiling in my room (and actually I can’t remember if it was a dream or was i really awake),and on the ceiling a shadow like demon started spreading all over it.I couldn’t move (that feeling of someone holding me) and I tried to call my roommate but nothing I couldn’t make a sound.I was afraid but at the same time calm because I knew I have to do something. So in my mind I wanted to call upon a good figure and then a shadow like buddha appeared on the ceiling.A few moments later there was a kind of fight (not in a physical kind of way more like will the good or the bad shadow get the ceiling) between them and the buddha was not enough, then a shadow taoist priest came to help and I remember that there was another good figure but I can’t recall who that was.At the end the shadow like budhha was all over the ceiling, and then I woke up,(the feeling of someone holding me was gone) and thought ok now I can go back to sleep cause he is protecting me. My christian friends say that it is not good to dream about either good or bad figures and that those are all demons.I don’t know if it’s relevant but I don’t believe in just one God nor do I follow one religion, I like almost all religions,I believe in positive energy and good. So what do you think about all this ? If you can please reply.Thank you, Andrea.

    Andrea,

Consider that the world is made of yin and yang, shadow and light, female and male, and both are part of the fabric of creation, part of consciousness. To me, your dream means you’re struggling with accepting these parts of yourself, pitting these forces against one another, rather than integrating them. Have you been especially uncomfortable with something you’ve been feeling? Consider less struggle, more hugs to yourself.

A Buddha fighting a demon? More like two buddhas putting on a play to teach you some stuff.

And watch out for those Christians, hehe. Some of them tend to forget the whole “god is everything” teaching when something startles them. Everything is demons? Who ever heard such nonsense! The only difference between a hurt child and a demon is in the eye of the beholder.

    With warmth,
    Matt

Dream analysis can be a destructive waste of time. You know, I don’t care what I dream about because I don’t choose my dreams and it’s just the brain exercising its creativity. Although I’m sometimes a little curious, I never care about if my dreams say anything about me, because of course they don’t – they just happen. Interestingly I haven’t had a nightmare in many years, which may well be influenced by the fact I don’t take my dreams seriously.
