i want closure, i want to heal.  i’ve turned my life completely upside down, i walked away from everything.  he chose someone better over me to build a life with a take my place.  i thought distance and a fresh start would help but it’s made it worse and i just miss what i had.  i want an explanation for why he did that, why he just threw everything away.  i want to know what i did wrong, i don’t know how to ask.

What could he say that might help you get to a better place, emotionally and spiritually? Or maybe it has nothing to do with him?

    Dear Nichole:

If you didn’t ask him so far, for his reasons for breaking up with you, you can ask him this very question, explaining to him that your purpose is to understand what happened and learn from it. You can ask him in a non-accusatory, non-confrontational way, so to increase your chances to get an honest answer.

You wrote: “i want an explanation for why he did that, why he just threw everything away.  i want to know what i did wrong”- only him, of course, can give you his reasons. I have no way of knowing his reasons.

Do you have any ideas as to his possible reasons?
