I have a feeling that somehow I am disconnected with God. Earlier I used to worship and remember God. But suddenly I feel that I am disconnected. But I don’t want to be like this. What should I do? Should I read any spiritual books?

Welcome back, MG03!
How to reconnect to your god? Depends who your god is, what are the values of your god. For example, if one of your god’s values is to not have an affair with a married man, and you are still having an affair with the married man in the office (you shared about it three months ago), then no wonder you feel disconnected from god.
Fit your behaviors with the values you believe in, and you will be connected.

By connecting to God, I simply mean where I am able to talk to him in my mind and where I can feel peace whenever I think of him. And currently I am not able to do.
In regards to the affair, yes I still do have it. But as per our discussion, I didnt have any physical things. We just talk and share everything.
Here, I want to know if I should follow any spiritual path to find the peace I am looking for.
Thanks.

Sometimes when we feel we are far away from God or disconnected, this is where your faith will come in.
when things are going well, we feel connected and that God is hearing us. But when things are hard, stressful, bad, etc..we feel like God is not listening. Just the opposite. God walks us through the pain. Tell your God how you feel and ask him to guide you in the right thoughts, words and walk..That saying…Footprints in the Sand. the last sentences. “why when I needed you most, you were not there? God replied…the years when you saw only one set of footprints is when I carried you.

I am not religious but I like these biblical quotes regarding god and peace of mind. It may help you to read and re-read (and maybe memorize) before going to bed, or when you get up in the morning, or anytime in between. Read or repeat any of these slowly, let the words sink in and spread peace in your mind and heart:
Psalm 23: “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness.”
Corinthians 4: “We have small troubles for a while now, but they are helping us gain an eternal glory that is much greater than the troubles. We set our eyes not on what we see but on what we cannot see. What we see will last only a short time, but what we cannot see will last forever.”
Matthew 6: “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them… And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?”
Philippians 4: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds.. whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me- practice these things and the God of peace will be with you.”

July 24, 2020 at 9:20 am #362579Mary BethParticipantHello MG03,
I have been feeling a similar way. I am trying not to let myself feel guilty about it, but rather to know that He is there for me when I am ready, and that He holds his arms open for my return. Also consider this, if you follow a certain church, maybe it is the church you are feeling disconnected with but your relationship with God is actually still strong. Just a thought.
July 25, 2020 at 7:35 am #362692MG03ParticipantHi Anita I will surely try the things you said.
Hi Mary, Thank you may be you are right. 🙂
