Posted on here a few months ago about the breakdown of my relationship. Things haven’t been much better. Last time we spoke was a few months ago, I went NC as talking was proving too painful. I miss him a lot though. So much. Looking back in hindsight our relationship wasn’t amazing and I know I was miserable, but I just miss him. I don’t think I want to reconcile, but I do at the same time..I feel like texting him so much, but then I think I have come this far.. I just feel torn. I really need some help. I love him and I feel scared to text him but I’m stuck as moving on should be what I’m doing..

Hey Izzy, I’m in that very same position. It sucks and hurts so much!!! I’m laying here in bed and I feel so empty and alone. But my relationship was never going to work either but you miss them so much. I could really do with someone to talk to.

    Dear Izzy:

I looked briefly at your thread of a few months ago and I don’t have a clear picture of what happened in your relationship. On your post above you wrote: “I feel like texting him so much, but then I think I have come this far..”

My question: what do you mean by “I have come this far”?

I mean I have progressed in terms of distancing myself from the breakup and trying to heal. I’m unsure whether I really do miss HIM or if its loneliness. I would love to see him, call him etc but I’m unsure if I’m ready.

I’m finding the loneliness hard!! I go out with friends or go to the gym with friends but still feel alone??? Then, when I am alone, my thoughts attack me. Are you feeling this way? Why do you think that you shouldn’t try again? How long were you together?

Izzy; First of all congratulations on letting go! now you just have to work on finding things that you enjoy doing all by yourself like painting your nails, going to the mall and try (not buy) all the dresses and styles that you would like to wear when you find your next Mr. Right. try new make up and hair dos. You know the fun stuff!

I’m 45 I have 2 children 1 is 21 and the other is 16 I was married for over 23 years and when I tell you that you’ll get over is because you will, imagine missing a man who fathers your 2 children and that for 23 years was the face you saw every morning when you woke up. You just have to invest time in yourself and enjoy the solitude of your inner beauty and a lot men will be attracted to your confidence and well being.

    Love yourself first!

    With Love: Jessica

thanks a lot for your response, you’re right, one of the reasons I broke it off was because I felt like I just had no self love, and was only relying on someone for that..I’m also still really young and I know I will meet someone else, it just really hurts right now. Thanks a lot though, it made me smile x

    Dear Izzy:

If contacting your ex boyfriend can help you in your healing and loving yourself, then contacting him is a good idea. If it is likely to interfere with your healing, then it is not a good idea.

I hope you make the right choice according to what is best for your own well being and what is best for him as well (every relationship should be a Win-Win proposition, Win for both).
