    My partner and I have been together for 2 years. Previous he was with a much younger woman who he still has contact with. I find myself thinking he loved her more and dwelling on how they were together.    How can I manage my anxiety and move on without comparing myself to her.

    Can you elaborate on the nature of your partner’s contact with his ex?

    Have you ever met her or are you in contact with her- and one more question: what did your partner share with you about his ex, about his past relationship with her and present communication?

    She emails him sometimes.  Actually he has kept all her emails.  The only thing I know about her is she didn’t want to move her life to be with him. I don’t know why he would keep in contact with someone who didn’t think he was good enough.  But he does.  No I haven’t met her I wouldn’t want to.

    I ask these questions to understand your situation and question better, so to be able to give you input that I hope will be helpful.

    Does he keep only her emails or is he in the habit of keeping lots of people’s emails?

    Did your boyfriend express anything to  you about age, her being young and you being older?

    Did you ask him “why he would keep in contact with someone who didn’t think he was good enough”?
