I understand the usefulness of your attitude and I like it. I also understand “I can’t shut them out. I can’t make them stop”. I experienced that with my mother. I couldn’t make her stop talking to me or at me, day after day, year after year. It is maybe impossible for me to put into words the frustration, the building rage at having to hear it, the feeling of being trapped, wanting to escape but being stuck there.
