I need some suggestion from you friends….

My parents live in another city in India, they are around 65 yrs old now. My elder brother is there to

look after them but there are certain issues that we face, I’m listing them below:

1) We live in a joint family, each floor for each family. It’s getting difficult for mom n dad to take

the staircase (3rd floor) (there’s no lift) everyday every now and then.

2) Mom has got used to having people around, so difficult to move to another place where she will feel

lonely among strangers. And with age, she has become reluctant to any kind of change.

3) Dad has got hearing problem and not willing to get the ear machine, hence he has given up on any

kind of work.

4) As the house is old and not well-planned, often there is some repairing needs to be done. It’s

pretty hot (40-48*C in summer) and 10 months in a year it’s hot. Recently got to know that A.C. cannot

be installed due to technical reasons.:-(

All I want is, to help my family live a better and easier life, esp. with the age they are in.

I see no way out, to buy another apartment, budget is a constraint clubbed with parents’ reluctance to change!
