    Hi Tinybuddha,

I am so worry about my future and don’t know what to do. My current company want to cut my salary, and out of anger I resigned immediately. It was easy for me to get few job offer last year, so I thought I will be able to get a job easily this year as well during my 2 months notice period.

Long story short, my notice period has ended 2 weeks ago, I’ve been look for jobs around 2 and half months and getting very little results. I am very stressed and my family also very worried about my future. I am high-income earner so it was a bit difficult as well to get high-paying jobs. I think I will be jobless this month T.T. I still have some savings, but I have mortage to pay as well and I am so afraid whether I can/can’t find a job soon.

I started some business but the result is very minimum, I am very scared. I eat a lot when I am unhappy and gained some weight. I am scared I make mistake with my life. What should I do? Please give me some support/advice/encouragement.

    Thank you so much,

    Doremi

    Dear Doremi:

You have 8 threads on record here starting a bit more than five years ago and I think that they are all about your experience with employment (and unemployment, here).

I think it will be a good idea if you read and study your own posts, taking notes, and then post your understanding and insight here, on this thread.  I will be glad to read what you will post and reply.

Regarding your anxiety, I hope you do things to lower it, such as take a brisk walk every day or twice a day, have an exercise routine every day, maybe incorporate yoga into a daily routine, guided meditations, mindfulness exercises and so forth.

Hi Anita, thanks for your reply. Yes, I worry so much about my work but my work has a big role on me, since I don’t know what else to do if not working. I mean I can do other activities but I still want to have job that pays the bill.

i don’t know, but I can’t go back to the past and don’t regret it. I started some business but mostly aren’t working I feel very desperate. I really hope that I will get some insights and job offer soon in a good environment. Then I will just work hard without thinking too much.

i believe everything is gonna be alright.

    Dear Doremi:

Then do all that you can do to get employed again, and do your best to survive this period of unemployment, get exercise daily, eat sensibly, listen to relaxing music… maintain yourself this way so that you survive well until you become employed again.

And then take care of yourself better, once employed, attend to your emotional well-being.

For now, after you do all  you can to find employment in any one day, say to yourself: I did all I could do today, it is now time to rest.

The serenity prayer may be helpful to you: “grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference”-

-Accept the things you cannot change today. Change the things you can change, today. And every day. Post here anytime if it helps and I will reply.
