    Dear Hareesh:

You think wrong. You feel badly, this is what I understand, You feel badly. You feel hurt and scared and sad, aren’t you?

So you are trying to THINK why you are feeling this way.

You arrived at the wrong answer, that you are not special and a waste of space.

Wrong answer. Would you like to try again to think and come up with a more accurate answer?

Or just express how you feel? Because you must be feeling a lot of pain to come up with this belief. Please do post again, soon.

    Dear Hareesh:

I agree with you: the world is cruel. A lot of people are cruel, hurting other people, and … hurting innocent young children.

Best you can do in this cruel world is not hurt children… not be abusive to others (“Do no harm!”)

And do not hurt yourself; do not be abusive to yourself.

In this cruel world in which we are all stuck, be kind to yourself. Do not add unnecessary misery into your life by talking disrespectfully to yourself and about yourself.

Can you do that, be kind to yourself…even when people are not, and even though your life circumstances are not …that great?

I think ending my life is an option to escape from this painfull life

    Dear Hareesh:

Your life will end and you don’t have to do anything about it. It will naturally end, as will my life, as will any person’s life. A painless eternity, I suppose, is a promise that will be fulfilled for all of us. In between now and then, live!

Keep posting here. To manage the pain you feel so intensely, take breaks, as in a walk in nature, a hot tea, a poem to read, lying in the sun.. soothe yourself, take care of yourself, as if you are taking care of a young child who is hurt, scared and sad. Take his hand and comfort him.

I felt pain too, intense emotional pain and I too thought about ending my life many times. A lot of people think that way when in intense pain. I am glad I didn’t. When I feel pain now, and I do, I get curious: what can I learn today. Life is often not enjoyable and it is too often, painful, but if you look and listen, life is also interesting. Get interested, get curious!

what to do when you suck at everything that you do

    Dear Hareesh:

When you “suck at everything that you do”- just be for a while. Stop doing and be okay just being there. Reminds me of something I read about two brooms. One broom is used to sweep the floor; another broom is just there, not doing anything, or not being used for doing anything. Which broom is more worthy? Which broom is worth more?

    I’ll wait for your answer.

    Dear Hareesh:

You mean, if you needed to buy a broom and let’s say you didn’t have enough money to buy a new broom, only a used broom and you were offered two brooms, both costing the same, one not in use and the other used, you would choose the one that is used? Why?

    Dear Hareesh:

The point with the broom analogy is that you have value for just being. You are a Human Being. Even if you don’t do anything at all and “suck at” everything you do, like you wrote, you still have value. I didn’t make these rules and I don’t argue with this rule. The rule being that you (and I) have an inherent value, one we are born with, that has nothing to do with what we do and how good we are at what we do.

It is also true that we need to do something, if only for the purpose of surviving. You started this thread with the blow you suffered as the university you attended got discredited (what was the word?) Something not good happened to you, through no fault of your own.

This is part of life, unfortunately (because it hurts and it scares us as to: what else can go wrong… and why try?)

And this is when and where you have the opportunity to be… a hero in your own life, get up from where you fell, or where you were thrown down, on the ground, get up and fight for yourself and your life. Doesn’t have to be a Hollywood type fighting, but small steps. Every small step you take for your own good, for yourself is a heroic step. What will such be right now, for you?

    Dear Hareesh:

Say anything, Hareesh, anything at all. Tell me what you think, how you feel.
