Today marks the start of a new week and I told myself this morning there are a few things I’d like to work on in effort to better myself as a person. Lately I’ve been overwhelmed with school, work and everything else life has to offer on a daily basis. Now that the school semester is over and I have a decent month off, I’d like to refocus my attention on somethings a little more personal.

For the past few years I’ve been working on having better control over my emotions, coming across this website and reading some of the stories have reinforced my belief in myself and in people around me. Today I want to continue my journey on working towards controlling my anger and jealousy issues. Sometimes I believe insecurity plays the biggest role when it comes to my jealousy issues, so I have to find a way to build my confidence. I have to find a way to believe more in myself and not allow what other people are doing and how they live their lives affect me. Reading and writing help me so much when it comes to building my confidence the hardest part seems to be applying it to the real world.

My anger is another issue I’m working on but I found the best way to combat anger is to meditate. My meditation includes writing, walking and simply sitting in silence. Sometimes disconnecting from the actual issue by silencing the world around me, seems to be the perfect remedy for my anger issues. Let me not forget to mention the simple technique I learned from a friend in California: BREATHE IN .. BREATHE OUT … Count backwards from 10 … BREATHE IN … BREATHE OUT!

    Works miracles.
