chelseaParticipanti’ve had a change of heart. since graduating from college (in may 2012), i’ve come to the conclusion that i don’t want to be that business woman i always “thought” i wanted to be. i don’t want to be running around with no time to enjoy my life because i’m always tied up with deadlines and work. i’ve done that so long in life that i feel like i haven’t enjoyed my life as much as i should bc i’m always so worried about my mother’s expectations and i’m already 25! time is flying! i just want a good paying job in the music/event industry and i want to have fun and cut down on unnecessary stress. all my life i’ve always been worried about doing what people think i should do and now i want to have fun. does anyone else feel this way? i just don’t feel like this is the path to my purpose. i want to explore and find my tribe and enjoy my time on earth and so far, i haven’t been doing that as fully as i need to. any advice?? i’m even relocating to new orleans in the next couple months and i feel so good about it. i’m very excited!

MattParticipantChelsea,
Giving up other people’s expectations is great! Its your life to live, and other people aren’t good at choosing our path for us, so don’t let them. ๐ If you can find a balance between having lots of fun with helping people in your unique way, the sky is the limit. Too much focus on fun, money, stuff, and life gets dull. Too much focus on helping people, work, production, and life gets dull. Right in the center is Chelsea, smiling, dancing.
With warmth,

LoveAndLiveParticipantWay to go, Chelsea! I’m sure you have a great future ahead of you. The most satisfying thing to do is to follow your heart and not worry about what the world thinks. Those who love you will always stick around, no matter what. All the best for this new beginning! ๐

TirParticipantOne of the hardest things to do is to cut that parental tie with your parents. Your mom probably still sees you as a little girl. Help her not see you as that little girl by living your own life. You only get one life so you live it and let your mom know that you are going to be ok because you are making conscious choices. Living life is a balance and career should be no more important than anything else like spirituality, family, relationships, social, wellness and recreation. People often regret what they didn’t do more than any mistakes they made. I know I have. Good luck and enjoy your beautiful life. Your mom will learn that you will be ok and you are an adult now when you make your own path.
